CAS'in #38

The challenge at CAS-ual Friday's this week was to use a movie to inspire a card.  I'm in full on Valentine making mode and one of the first things I thought of was a box of conversation hearts that a friend gave to me that were Twilight movie themed.  I love the Twilight books/movies and it just seemed to fit perfectly.  I had this Friendship Jar filler set with conversation hearts and just think it's so darn cute.  I copic colored the hearts and then filled the jar area with glossy accents and voila! AND just in case you didn't believe me I added a photo of the Twilight candy :)

CAS'in #37 & Paper Smooches Sparks

I created this card using the sketch from CAS-ual Friday's and the love stamp and inspiration are from Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge!  I love that this isn't your typically color scheme for a Valentine's Day card.  I just love this lightbulb stamp, it is so darn cute!  I stamped it on some ivory cardstock and colored it with some Copics (using the inspiration colors of mainly yellow & pastels in mint/teal).  After that I added some glossy accents to give it a little something extra and also so it would look like an actual light bulb.  I also loved the stitching on the inspiration photo flowers so I added some border stitching with my sewing machine.   I think this is just a fun and cute card!

CAS'in #36

Here's another valentine's day card that I made using inspiration from the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge where this week the challenge was to design a card using black & white only, not a speck of any other colors were allowed.  This was definitely a challenge for me because I wanted to splatter red on this but love how it came out.   I stamped the 'xo's' in the background with a border stamp from Papertrey Ink's Love Songs set.  After adding the scallops & twine, I heat embossed the sentiment on the scalloped circle and then popped it up on some foam squares.  I then popped that cute white heart in the center and popped that up on a foam square as well.

CAS'in #33

This week's CAS-ual Friday challenge is to create a clean and simple project using kraft & twine so I am going to share one last Christmas card! I wanted to keep it simple so that it appeared masculine since I planned to give this card to my dad.  I used a vintage book for the corner turn up and I distressed the edges with some scissors and then wrapped a whole buncha' twine around the whole thing.

CAS'in #28

One more challenge post for you today - CAS-ual Fridays challenge this week was to make a tag or a card with a tag on it.  I bought a few new dies this past weekend and thought it was a perfect time to try them out.  I used some double sided sticky paper for the snowflake.  I cut a small square out of the sticky paper and adhered one side to some ivory cardstock.  I then ran it through my Cuddlebug with the new snowflake die, and had to run it through about 15 times before it cut through.  Once I finally got it cut through, I peeled the other side off and added the glitter.  I love how it came out, it's so sparkly and pretty.  After that I just used an ornament shaped die to create the tag and then heat embossed a 'to' & 'from' on the back.

Seedin'

I have been dying to use my garden variety stamps & dies and finally got a chance to put a seed packet together.  I did find this cute layout from the Papertrey Idea Gallery, I altered it slightly and think it is just adorable. After I made the seed packet I decided to make it into a small sweet card.  This also fits into this week's CAS-ual Friday challenge.  The challenge this week was to make a card using 3 items from their tic-tac-toe board, I chose buttons, flowers & twine.
