Showerin'

Two blog posts in one week!  OMG!  I'm on a roll...but don't get used to it, I don't know how long I'll be able to keep this streak going.  This is a card I made for re:Discover that can be used for a wedding or baby shower/arrival.  I love the delicate colors!  I cut out the flower from a large sheet of paper...I don't remember which line it came from.  I made the same exact card for my cousin Dana for her Bridal shower this past weekend.  In place of the "Congratulations" sentiment I stamped "Bridal Shower" instead.

Catchin' Up

Okay, I know it's disgusting how long it's been since I updated my blog but life has been crazy lately, leaving me with little time to craft.  Last week I finally had some down time to create and it felt so great to pull out my supplies again.  This is a birthday card I created for my sister.  I was inspired by a similar card I saw in Paper Crafts magazine so I recreated it.  I loved the color combo and after staring at it a while I decided I loved it so much that I'd make the same one for my sister-in-law and one to sell at re:Discover!  I also decided to stage it with this vase I purchased from Anthropologie a while ago.  I didn't come up with this clever idea, it was actually staged like this in Paper Crafts Magazine too which is why it really caught my eye.  Enjoy!

Twistin' #107

Here is my take on this week's sketch over at Twisted Sketches.  The twist today is chipboard.  As you can see, I used chipboard letters to spell out "mom"! I love love this color combination together!  I used some fun lacy elastic ribbon to give it a more feminine feel. Head over to Twisted to try it out for yourself!

Cupcakin'

Here's a quick card I put together for my sister-in-law for her birthday.  I saw a similar card layout on Maile Belles blog (I loooooove her cards) and couldn't resist using the same layout.  This stamp set was one that I found a while ago at Joann's and it has all kinds of sweet treats to choose from, I've never used it before.  I colored the cupcakes with my copics and then added some rhinestones as sprinkles on the bottom one.  It's a fun and feminine birthday card that was easy to put together.  I will definitely be using this layout again!

Twistin' #105

This week's Twisted Sketch was flower!  I love flowers, they make me so very happy.  I created this baby card using a button from the Sassafras line by October Afternoon.  As you can see, the button has a flower center.  Check out this week's Twisted Sketch and try your own take on this fun challenge!

Catchin' Up

Oh my poor blog!  I miss you.  I haven't posted in a while due to a hectic work and social schedule, but I hope I am able to update more frequently because I miss my craft supplies.  I figured I would share a custom order that I have been working on for the last couple months.  I was hired by azure photography to create packaging for their wedding albums that are given to the bride.  The wonderful thing about azure is that Christie (the owner & operator) is really focused on creating a beautiful package for the happy couple.  She includes a bottle of wine and several sized albums in her delivery of the final product.  As a result, I have made wine bottle tags, to/from tags for the albums and a logo tag for her to use on the top of the box.  Here are some photos of the items that I have put together for azure!

Twistin' #97

I can't believe it has been one month since my last post!  I am slacckkkinnngggg!  Anywho, here is my take on Twisted Sketches #97 with the twist of "yellow".  I really loved this sketch for its clean & simple layout.  I used a star border that I got for free at my LSS and just added some stickles to it.  Who doesn't love stickles?
You should head over to Twisted Sketches and try it for yourself!

Twistin' #94

Here is my card for this week's challenge over at Twisted Sketches.  This week the twist was 'Red' and I made a card for a friend of mine that just got engaged.  I just love aqua and red together so I couldn't resist using these 2 paper.  Head over to the Twisted site and try it out for yourself!

CAS'in #38

The challenge at CAS-ual Friday's this week was to use a movie to inspire a card.  I'm in full on Valentine making mode and one of the first things I thought of was a box of conversation hearts that a friend gave to me that were Twilight movie themed.  I love the Twilight books/movies and it just seemed to fit perfectly.  I had this Friendship Jar filler set with conversation hearts and just think it's so darn cute.  I copic colored the hearts and then filled the jar area with glossy accents and voila! AND just in case you didn't believe me I added a photo of the Twilight candy :)

Lovin'

I wanted to share a couple more Valentine's Cards that I dropped off to Re:Discover last week.  The tree card was my husband's idea.  I was showing him some of the new paper I bought and as soon as he saw that sheet he asked me if I was going to make it look like initials carved into a tree.  I hadn't even thought of that so I was super happy for the inspiration!

CAS'in #37 & Paper Smooches Sparks

I created this card using the sketch from CAS-ual Friday's and the love stamp and inspiration are from Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge!  I love that this isn't your typically color scheme for a Valentine's Day card.  I just love this lightbulb stamp, it is so darn cute!  I stamped it on some ivory cardstock and colored it with some Copics (using the inspiration colors of mainly yellow & pastels in mint/teal).  After that I added some glossy accents to give it a little something extra and also so it would look like an actual light bulb.  I also loved the stitching on the inspiration photo flowers so I added some border stitching with my sewing machine.   I think this is just a fun and cute card!

Clean & Simple Stampin' (#175)

I'm back with another Valentine's Day card!  For this card I used the sketch from Clean and Simple Stamping.  I used a spellbinders set to cut the circles, I used an old scrap of sprayed pink paper to punch out the hearts and I heat embossed the sentiment.  I also broke out the sewing machine for this one too stitching both edges with pink thread.  This card is available on my Etsy page and at Re:Discover!

Twistin' #90

I'm baccccckkkkkk with my first new Twisted Sketches card of 2012!  I made this card using all new paper & and a new Spellbinders set that I won from my Play Date Cafe's challenge win! The ice cream is heat embossed and I used Papertrey Ink's Love Songs set again, I love that song and I love that sentiment!
Head over to Twisted Sketches this weekend for a new sketch with the "New" twist.  Can't wait to see what everyone submits!

CAS'in #36

Here's another valentine's day card that I made using inspiration from the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge where this week the challenge was to design a card using black & white only, not a speck of any other colors were allowed.  This was definitely a challenge for me because I wanted to splatter red on this but love how it came out.   I stamped the 'xo's' in the background with a border stamp from Papertrey Ink's Love Songs set.  After adding the scallops & twine, I heat embossed the sentiment on the scalloped circle and then popped it up on some foam squares.  I then popped that cute white heart in the center and popped that up on a foam square as well.

Kraftin'

I made this Valentine's Day card just for fun!  I just love this sentiment from the Papertrey Ink's Love Songs set.  I have been seeing kraft on kraft a lot lately on all of the crafting blogs and I just love it for it's clean and simple look.  I posted this one in my Etsy shop and made a 2nd one to sell at re:Discover!

Pleatin'

This is the first time I am playing along with the Papertrey Ink Make it Monday challenge over on Nichole Heady's blog, I can't believe I've never done this before!  I watch the videos almost every week.  This week you got to choose which technique you wanted to use - I chose pleated ribbon for this little Valentine's Day card.  It's such a fun detail and really gives the card a little something extra.  I used the Papertrey Ink set - Love Songs - for the valentines sentiment, I cut the heart out of felt on my Cuttlebug and threaded a button in the center with some bakers twine.
