OMG! I'm on a roll...but don't get used to it, I don't know how long I'll be able to keep this streak going. This is a card I made for re:Discover that can be used for a wedding or baby shower/arrival. I love the delicate colors! I cut out the flower from a large sheet of paper...I don't remember which line it came from. I made the same exact card for my cousin Dana for her Bridal shower this past weekend. In place of the "Congratulations" sentiment I stamped "Bridal Shower" instead.
Last week I finally had some down time to create and it felt so great to pull out my supplies again. This is a birthday card I created for my sister. I was inspired by a similar card I saw in Paper Crafts magazine so I recreated it. I loved the color combo and after staring at it a while I decided I loved it so much that I'd make the same one for my sister-in-law and one to sell at re:Discover! I also decided to stage it with this vase I purchased from Anthropologie a while ago. I didn't come up with this clever idea, it was actually staged like this in Paper Crafts Magazine too which is why it really caught my eye. Enjoy!
Here is my take on this week's sketch over at Twisted Sketches. The twist today is chipboard. As you can see, I used chipboard letters to spell out "mom"! I love love this color combination together! I used some fun lacy elastic ribbon to give it a more feminine feel. Head over to Twisted to try it out for yourself!

I saw a similar card layout on Maile Belles blog (I loooooove her cards) and couldn't resist using the same layout. This stamp set was one that I found a while ago at Joann's and it has all kinds of sweet treats to choose from, I've never used it before. I colored the cupcakes with my copics and then added some rhinestones as sprinkles on the bottom one. It's a fun and feminine birthday card that was easy to put together. I will definitely be using this layout again!
I miss you. I haven't posted in a while due to a hectic work and social schedule, but I hope I am able to update more frequently because I miss my craft supplies. I figured I would share a custom order that I have been working on for the last couple months. I was hired by azure photography to create packaging for their wedding albums that are given to the bride. The wonderful thing about azure is that Christie (the owner & operator) is really focused on creating a beautiful package for the happy couple. She includes a bottle of wine and several sized albums in her delivery of the final product. As a result, I have made wine bottle tags, to/from tags for the albums and a logo tag for her to use on the top of the box. Here are some photos of the items that I have put together for azure!
I'm in full on Valentine making mode and one of the first things I thought of was a box of conversation hearts that a friend gave to me that were Twilight movie themed. I love the Twilight books/movies and it just seemed to fit perfectly. I had this Friendship Jar filler set with conversation hearts and just think it's so darn cute. I copic colored the hearts and then filled the jar area with glossy accents and voila! AND just in case you didn't believe me I added a photo of the Twilight candy :)
The tree card was my husband's idea. I was showing him some of the new paper I bought and as soon as he saw that sheet he asked me if I was going to make it look like initials carved into a tree. I hadn't even thought of that so I was super happy for the inspiration!
I love that this isn't your typically color scheme for a Valentine's Day card. I just love this lightbulb stamp, it is so darn cute! I stamped it on some ivory cardstock and colored it with some Copics (using the inspiration colors of mainly yellow & pastels in mint/teal). After that I added some glossy accents to give it a little something extra and also so it would look like an actual light bulb. I also loved the stitching on the inspiration photo flowers so I added some border stitching with my sewing machine. I think this is just a fun and cute card!
For this card I used the sketch from Clean and Simple Stamping. I used a spellbinders set to cut the circles, I used an old scrap of sprayed pink paper to punch out the hearts and I heat embossed the sentiment. I also broke out the sewing machine for this one too stitching both edges with pink thread. I made this card using all new paper & and a new Spellbinders set that I won from my Play Date Cafe's challenge win! The ice cream is heat embossed and I used Papertrey Ink's Love Songs set again, I love that song and I love that sentiment!
Head over to Twisted Sketches this weekend for a new sketch with the "New" twist. Can't wait to see what everyone submits!
This was definitely a challenge for me because I wanted to splatter red on this but love how it came out. I stamped the 'xo's' in the background with a border stamp from Papertrey Ink's Love Songs set. After adding the scallops & twine, I heat embossed the sentiment on the scalloped circle and then popped it up on some foam squares. I then popped that cute white heart in the center and popped that up on a foam square as well.
I just love this sentiment from the Papertrey Ink's Love Songs set. I have been seeing kraft on kraft a lot lately on all of the crafting blogs and I just love it for it's clean and simple look. I posted this one in my Etsy shop and made a 2nd one to sell at re:Discover!
I watch the videos almost every week. This week you got to choose which technique you wanted to use - I chose pleated ribbon for this little Valentine's Day card. It's such a fun detail and really gives the card a little something extra. I used the Papertrey Ink set - Love Songs - for the valentines sentiment, I cut the heart out of felt on my Cuttlebug and threaded a button in the center with some bakers twine.
I had to make a birthday card for my talented, crafty friend Jess and needed some inspiration so this was the perfect sketch to get me going. I just went to my LSS over this past week and bought a bunch of Valentine paper & accessories so I just had to break into it a little for Jess's card. I'm a bit burnt out from making Christmas cards so I wanted to do something totally different and girly and pink. I got to use my new October Afternoon Sprinklers on this which makes me far too excited (I used the Sprinklers on the graph paper in the background)! I decided to stick with the sketch and use a square layout which I don't do very often. I'm going over to Jess's house tonight for a NYE party so I hope she doesn't see this post before I give her the card!
I wanted to keep it simple so that it appeared masculine since I planned to give this card to my dad. I used a vintage book for the corner turn up and I distressed the edges with some scissors and then wrapped a whole buncha' twine around the whole thing.

I love this line, it's so fun! For this card, I just sewed the border around the edge of the flowered paper with my sewing machine and then layered it up on some kraft cardstock. After that I used my bloom builders and a brad to make the layered flower, added some twine and then added a banner & sentiment.
I just love this set, it's so fun and it's easy to make it 2 dimensional. I made this one similar to the hydrangea cards I've posted in the past. I used several copic markers to color the candy canes & the jar and then added some red sparkle stickles to the canes & glossy accents to give it the jar look; after all of that dried I added the twine & tag and then layered it up with some colorful cardstock.
The candy shown in the photo was made by my neighbor, it is sooooo good. In addition to the yummy chocolate peppermint bark, he also made some chocolate with bacon in it. It is as awesome as it sounds. I've already eaten all of it!
As I was reading her blog last week I saw how she decorated a pandora gift box and I thought it was just so clever that I had to try it myself. My sister-in-law asked for some Pandora charms for Christmas, so I just happened to have a Pandora gift box to decorate for her.
I'm excited to be part of the Twisted team and can't want for the new sketches starting in January! Here is my take on the DT card sketch with the "number" twist. I made this card for my niece who just turned 9 years old. Head over to Twisted to check out the sketch and the rest of the DT's cards.
I used it to make a few cards for family members. I also thought it'd be fun to add one of our nutcrackers into the picture to make it a little more holiday themed.

This card also fits into the color challenge over at Just Us Girls. The color challenge this week was to make a card using red, olive & white/kraft which was easy because I've been making Christmas cards all day!
For inspiration to get started, I went to the challenge blogs! I loved both the Play Date Cafe & Less Is More challenges this week so I decided to combine them into one card! The PDCC this week was to use black & white with a splash of teal/aqua and the LIM challenge this week was to incorporate music into your card. I used a music note stamp that I've had but haven't really used much and stamped a piece of plain white cardstock, trimmed the edges and then just layered it with black & aqua cardstock. After that I just stamped the "Merry Christmas" sentiment and added a folded ribbon which I assembled with some hot glue and then added an aqua stone brad.
I know that she loved a previous card that I made with my summer friendship jar stamps, so I recreated it with a Mr. & Mrs. sentiment.
At the same time, I had came up with another card that I had been wanting to make with the Mega Mehndi Medallions set that I have, I ended up loving how this came out. The center circle was a happy accident. I was using a piece of scrap from a previous mehndi stamp that didn't come out well and I turned it over and a portion of the mehndi medallion was on the circle and I decided that I really liked how that looked so I ran with it.
I haven't been able to photograph in natural light lately due to my schedule.Nicolehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11621749421504783793noreply@blogger.com1
